WHAT IS TIRE RECYCLING

Tires that have expired their safe and useful life are recycled. We ship the ‘spent’ tires to a reputable recycler. The tires are shredded or made into crumbs and are used to produce new products. Here are a few examples of recycled tires:

  • Rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC) for “green road” highways, for running track fields
  • Combusted as fuel to power furnaces and potentially enough retrievable oil to ease consumer demand.
  • Protective clothing, shoe soles
  • Child safety environments like cushioned playground mats
  • Drain pipes
  • Mulch
  • Office supplies
